My daughter has been taking piano lessons with Yuyeon for two years. It takes patience to build up to confident playing with young children who may need additional support with focus, and Yuyeon has been both extremely patient and engaging with guiding my daughter through key foundational stages for her to actually enjoy music and playing at this point. We’re very grateful to work with her as a teacher!

One of the things we appreciated most about Yuyeon was how well she connected with our daughter and made piano feel fun and approachable from the very beginning.

She created a relaxed and engaging environment that kept our daughter interested and excited to learn. Even when introducing a new piece or something more challenging, Yuyeon always found a way to explain it in a way that made sense to her and kept the experience enjoyable. Over time, piano became less of something she had to practice and more of something she genuinely enjoyed playing.

As a parent, I’m especially grateful that my daughter has had such a positive experience learning piano and has come to enjoy music even more. I would highly recommend Yuyeon to any family looking for a teacher who knows how to make learning piano both fun and rewarding for children

During the past three years, Yuyeon has taught my 2 granddaughters when they come to visit for the summer. Now 8 and 11, they are serious piano students and they love her. She helps them make progress on pieces they have worked on during the school year, providing a new perspective on how to improve. She is always patient, quietly inspiring them to practice and perform better each week. We feel lucky to have found her, and we all hope this relationship will continue again next year. A terrific teacher and a real professional.

Yuyeon has been teaching my two daughters piano for over a year and every week I am impressed by the level of professionalism and musical knowledge she brings to the lessons. They don’t just work on playing songs, but also on musical theory and concepts, posture and movement, what it is to be a musician, and how to perform.

In addition to being an amazing pianist, she is a masterful teacher of children! She shows this by working with both of my daughters differently, as they are different kinds of learners. She employs humor, movement, drawing, listening, all while building meaningful relationships with each of them. Her lessons have stretched my kids’ thinking not only about music, but about math, culture, and symbolic thinking. They have learned so much from Yuyeon and we are grateful for her skill, expertise, and dedication to teaching what she loves.

As an adult student with physical disabilities learning piano for the first time, I had some trepidations. Yuyeon alleviated all my fears. She finds a way to be encouraging even when correction is needed: a rare talent among music teachers. When I am having a difficult time physically with one hand, she finds pieces that utilize the other. She takes the time to find the right music for my abilities on any given day. I never thought I would be able to say “I play piano,” but with Yuyeon’s help, I finally can. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Ms. Yuyeon has been a wonderful first piano teacher for my daughter. She is very patient and has a warm and encouraging way of teaching that makes lessons fun and enjoyable. She really helped bring the music out of my daughter and helped her develop a love for playing piano. Yuyeon is also very easy to communicate with and always takes time after lessons to share her progress and what we can work on at home. We really appreciate the positive and supportive start she gave our daughter in her piano journey.

As an older, retired woman who took piano lessons in my childhood, I was looking for a teacher who would be kind, patient, and able to move me along in my skills. Yuyeon was all this and more, and I loved the music she picked for me.
